The art and science of animal husbandry is a vital part of our local food system, and we are so fortunate to have Lorea's expertise from a lifetime of raising sheep on the peninsula. Country Wool sheep can be found in many of the pasture fields of North Saanich. Come and meet Lorea at the Saanich Peninsula Country Market on Stelly's Cross Road from 4 - 8 pm every Wednesday, or from 9 - 1 pm Saturdays through summer. Explore educational material and memorabilia from a lifetime of raising sheep, and support local, ethically raised meat. You will taste the difference. Buy our amazing sausage, purchase lamb cuts and wool products: yarn, bedding, slippers, socks, dryer balls, sheepskins and blankets.
Deep Cove Market also carries Lorea's local, ethical meats and is a wonderful supporter of local food. They are featured on the Flavour Trail!
If you have a family member who is especially curious about sheep, would like to learn more about the various breeds, or have in interest in connecting the world of wool & the creatures that grow it...you can contact Lorea to come meet her flock, hear great stories, and ask questions. $20 a tour, Sunday afternoons. Email Lorea to arrange: countrywools@hotmail.com
Saturday, August 27 (11am and 2pm)
Country Wools will be featuring Sheep Shearing Demonstration as part of the Old Fashioned Farm Celebration at the Sandown Centre for Regenerative Agriculture
