Bike the Flavour Trail!

In France’s Loire Valley you can bike from chalet to chalet, with baguette and a bottle of wine stuffed in the panier. Pure bliss.

Well…how about doing the same at the Flavour Trails, but on North Saanich country roads with gourmet North Saanich food fare: perhaps a local Fickle Fig baguette, a Fruit Trees and More fruit spread, Snowden House dipping vinegar, and a bottle of Deep Cove Ortega wine on ice, ready for your lunch stop?

This year, consider taking in the trail by bicycle (don’t forget your bike baskets for all your festival goodies!). Or park your car in the security of our festival Bike Corral, hop on your own bike, or pick up your pre-rented electric or standard bikes right at the corral.

Electric Bikes from Ride the Glide

Electric assist (EBikes) are an amazing way to have all the fun of biking, but with a super boost up those hills (or wherever you need it). If you haven’t tried one yet, this festival might be the perfect place to start…country roads, warm fresh air, the scent of ripe blackberries…a farm or food stop every few minutes…

Victoria family-owned Ride the Glide will be at the Flavour Trails Bike Corral all weekend long to rent out their Ebikes, help you get comfortable and ready to go, help with any issues that may come up, and receive back your returned bike.

You can pre-book for a half or full day.

We anticipate that demand will be big, and so we ask that you pre-book your bike rental with Ride the Glide. Click below to access their website and book your bike through them. Meet them at the Flavour Trails bike corral on the day and time that you have requested your rental, and get on the festival trail!

Ride the Glide has three super fun electric bike models to choose from. There are the two foldable models, the 350 CT and the 500 XT, they are both highly adjustable to fit almost anyone. And new for 2018 is the Big Bear! A high performance electric fat bike for the kid in all of us. Think riding an electric bike is hard? Well, it’s as easy as riding a bike!

E-bikes aren’t any more difficult to ride then a normal bike, quite the opposite. The great thing about riding an e-bike is that you have options. You can pedal it like a regular bike, use any of the 5 levels of pedal assist or even use the throttle. This makes renting electric bikes the perfect choice for all fitness levels and capabilities, especially in a mixed group.

Never tried an electric bike?
Here's what people are saying...

We've been curious about electric bikes for years. We wanted to explore more of Victoria and environs. On a (surprise) sunny March weekend, these folks gave us great service, careful safety tips - and off we went along recommended trails through the countryside. Electric-assist.

My husband and I just rented these yesterday. They were a blast! From start to finish the experience was a positive one. We would not hesitate to rent them again and as a side note of how easy they are to use……we are 65 & 68 yrs young!

Instruction on how to use the bikes, secure them and restart were very clear. This was a lovely experience and we would recommend the company.
