North Saanich Food and Farm Festival– August 18-20, 2017!

The highly popular Flavour Trails North Saanich Food and Farm Festival, August 18-20, 2017 is celebrating 10 Years and there is a great weekend in store!!  Recently voted a finalist in the Peninsula News Review’s Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Farm Event, the festival a combination of a rural ramble and a community celebration!  Consisting of over 20 venue stops and activities throughout the weekend, as well as two special events, the festival has something for everyone.

Explore and experience the weekend by bike or by car and meet the growers, harvesters, fishers, vinters, chefs and producers that are creating an amazingly rich bounty right here in our own backyard!   Take a farm tour, sample food, enjoy music and art, learn about regional indigenous harvesting, see blacksmithing in action, watch dog herding demonstrations and experience farm life past and present. There is so much to enjoy and take home with you!

Join us for two special events over the weekend that will really highlight the seasonal flavours of the region:
Festival Launch Farm to Table Celebration! Friday Aug 18, 6:00-10pm.  Gorgeous 3 course locally sourced and prepared dinner by Chef Mitchell Morse, and accompanied by some of the best live music of the region. Fickle Fig Cafe and Market, 1780 Mills Rd. Tickets $55  Must pre-register/purchase tickets online HERE!

Canada 150 Community Pancake and Crepe Breakfast, Sunday Aug. 20, 9:30-11:30 on field at Epicure, 10555 W. Saanich Rd.  If you like pancakes and crepes loaded high with seasonal local berries and whip cream, then you won’t want to miss this great event for the whole family.  Music, kids activities and faceprinting will all be a part of it! A fundraiser for the Capital Region Food and Agriculture Initiatives Roundtable (CRFAIR). Adults $8, Kids $5.  Pay at door.
