Flavour Trails

bernadette1Flavour Trails is an initiative of the Capital Region Food and Agriculture Initiative Roundtable (CRFAIR), an umbrella organization representing over 150 agencies and individuals of the Good Food Networkworking for food security in the Capital Region.  Flavour Trails is one piece of the strategy in achieving the Good Food 2025 goals of:

– Increasing locally grown food to 25% (from current 5-10%)

– Decreasing household food insecurity by half

– Doubling food literacy

Flavour Trails events are community celebrations that provide opportunities for residents and visitors to experience and taste the quality and creativity of the region’s farmers, fishers, food producers, chefs and vintners.

The Flavour Trails program both organizes signature events and festivals, as well as partners with other local organizations to promote their regional food/farm/winery events.

The criteria for partner events are:
• The event must showcase Capital Region farms and foods
• The event must be located on the Capital Region
• The event is inclusive of all modes of sustainable food production, and
• The event is held in a safe and inclusive environment.

We are looking for partner events to join us in this new initiative. If you are interested, please contact Flavour Trails coordinator, Jelena Putnik, at jputnik@crfair.ca.
