The longer nights and shorter days may be upon us and you may think this is it for the farm-market season, but the farthest is from the truth! Growing, harvesting and production of food in the region is a year-round endeavour and although a number of farmers markets have closed for the season, many continue late in the fall or right through the year.
This might be the best time to check out markets you have never visited and experience the flavour of a different season or a different grower/maker!

Esquimalt Farmers Market (indoor at Esquimalt Rec Centre, Thursdays Sep 28 – Nov 9, 4:30-7:30)
Moss Street Market (winter market, Nov-April, Fairfield Community Centre – Garry Oak Room, Saturday 10am-noon)
Oaklands West-Coast Winter Market (one day only, Dec 2, 10am-4pm, Oaklands Community Centre)
Duncan Farmers Market (open year round, Saturdays, Apr-Oct 9am-2pm, Nov-Mar 10am-2pm)
