URBAN FOOD-GARDEN TOUR

Take the self-guided Urban Food-Garden Tour and visit your choice of 14 diverse and inspiring home food gardens in Greater Victoria – back yards, front yards, allotments, boulevards.  Talk with home gardeners and expert-gardener volunteers about:
• Year-round food production at home
• Veggies, bees, chickens, fruit trees, mushrooms
• Soils, sustainable water use, community gardens, and more

Electric bicyclesTHE STRAWBERRY CYCLE

This is a Strawberries and Wine Festival activity (Saanich Peninsula Flavour Trails).
Go Electric! Join TIDES and Pedego Victoria for a Sunday electric bicycle “Strawberries & Wine” tour on the Saanich Peninsula.  Come explore the farms, markets and wineries on two wheels! Ride your own bicycle or try a classic electric bicycle to cruise in comfort. Starting and finishing at the Roost Farm Centre in North Saanich, with plenty of parking, the ride will travel the country roads of the Peninsula to visit up to six farms/markets and two wineries featuring local strawberries. This will be a leisurely Sunday afternoon ride with lots of time to experience the farm and winery stops. The ride is approximately 20KM. Riders will meet at the Roost Farm Centre at 12PM, returning by about 4:30PM. The participant fee for this escorted and fully supported ride is $49.00 per person, taxes included, using your own bike OR $99.00 per person on a Pedego electric bike.  Have lunch at the Roost Farm Centre, either bring your own picnic or purchase lunch from our host. FARM FRESH FLAVOUR TRAIL

Visit local farms, markets and bakeries. The ride begins at Saanich Commonwealth Place (4636 Elk Lake Drive) at 10 a.m. and ends there at around 2 p.m. The ride is approximately 20 kilometres. Pick up your lunch at one of the stops or bring your own! This is a special Greater Victoria Cycling Coalition theme ride.

This is a North Saanich Jubilee Flavour Trail activity (Saanich Peninsula Flavour Trails).
Tour leaves Roost Farm Centre at 9:30 a.m.
Returns at 4:30 p.m. both days

Join us for a leisurely cycle on the North Saanich Flavour Trail. Come explore the farms, markets and other tasty stops on two wheels! Either use your own bike or try an electric bicycle for Pedego Victoria. Starting and finishing at the Roost Farm Centre in North Saanich, with plenty of parking, the ride will travel the country roads of the Peninsula to visit the Flavour Trail events and locations. This will be a relaxing ride with lots of time to experience the many Flavour Trail stops. The ride is approximately 25 km. Riders will leave the Roost Farm Centre at 9:30 a.m. returning by about 4:30 p.m. The participant fee for this escorted and fully supported ride is $79 per person with your own bike or $129 per person on a Pedego electric bicycle, lunch and taxes included. Come early for a breakfast bite or coffee boost at the Roost Farm Centre. The Roost will be making our lunches to go, based on your selection, with a few special tasty surprises!
