Chef Survival Challenge VII is coming on Sunday, September 7 at Madrona Farm in Saanich. Here’s what the organizers have to say about their event:
“Get up close and personal with your favorite chefs and our local firefighting heroes as they show us how far they will go to protect the farms that feed us. Come prepared for your kids to have a blast…this is one event where it’s ok to get down in the dirt – and they will. This is the most memorable event you can take your kids to all year. Our KIDS TENT is fantastically fun…facepainting, crafts, storytelling. Ride the Adrenaline Zipline! Cheer on your favorite chefs as they prove their dedication to local sustainable ingredients and the lengths they will go to protect the farms that feed us. The chefs hang, hurdle, balance, zipline, climb, crawl, race their boats to condiment island and then round the farm to forage for the vegetables for their masterpieces, which they will then cook for you on camping gear. This event could quite possibly be the best day of your life, laughter guaranteed, includes: feast, music, and obstacle race. Reasonably priced and perfect for the whole family. This year, to add to the fun, 10 Saanich Firefighters will be accompanying the chefs in the obstacle race and one firefighter, elected by his colleagues as ‘best chef’, will cook.
