Flavour Trails events are community celebrations that provide opportunities for residents and visitors to experience– and taste!– the quality and creativity of the Capital Region’s farmers, fishers, harvesters, food producers, chefs and vintners/cider-makers/distillers.

The Flavour Trails program is an initiative of the Capital Region Food and Agriculture Initiative Roundtable (CRFAIR), an umbrella organization representing over 150 agencies and individuals of the Good Food Networkworking for food security in the Capital Region.

Flavour Trails is one piece of the strategy in achieving the Good Food 2025 goals of:

  • Increasing locally grown food to 25% by 2025 (from current 5-10%)
  • Decreasing household food insecurity by half by 2025
  • Doubling food literacy

Flavour Trails program and events are funded jointly by local governments, charitable foundations, local businesses, and the revenue generated from events.  They contribute to the growth of the local food economy and create authentic and healthy social engagement for both residents and visitors alike.
